Fall OCTO meet

I know it's a month late, but figured I'd drop in some pictures of the last OCTO meet. With the new location, Long Beach Veteran's Stadium, which is much larger .......... no one was turned away. The event seemed much larger as this facility was spread out heavinly with tons of parking for all the splitty's. There was a total count of 183 buses on site. OCTO President, PJ French aka THE BEARD, mentioned the smaller OCTO meets grow each year. This is good news for the hobby. The only downfall to this venue is no "grilling", so no HOT DOG FRED! So next time, bring a sandwich and chips. Cuz the food sold there is for the Porsche crowd ......... BIG MONEY!!!

Any hoot, aside from the typical awesome Southern California weather, the show brought out lots of smiles and positive feed back on the new location. And not to mention tons of cool buses, both familiar and new, were on hand. Two buses stuck out like sore thumbs. One was Buddy Parks' 1961 Dove Blue ALL original Westfalia Camper. A true survivor! The other bus making it's OCTO debut was Rick Clark's 1950 Panel. Amazing to see this first generation of Type 2's still on the road. Hats off to Rick Clark!

See you guys in Februrary and don't forget about June 2012's OCTO meet. The Barndoor Line up!
