Pomona Auto Swap Meet
So the OCTO / PRADO PARK week kick off has officially started. The Pomona Auto Swap meet is the first major event during this week long of shows/bbq’s/open houses/etc. It’s been some time I’ve attended this event so this one was well worth the visit. The VW section was in full force! And the weather was gentle on us as we expected some serious heat as it usually is scorching hot during this one specific Pomona, and being on the asphalt doesn’t help. A bit hazy in the morning then by early afternoon the sun started doing its job, but a really nice breeze was upon us as well. So this was perfect weather. Tons of cars were for sale, from VW’s to classic American metal. The swap meet area was roaring! Walking through these isles were so intense they reminded me of walking the isles at the Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey. That’s how packed it was!!! After Pück and myself walked the American side on the hunt for BMX parts, we cruised back to our spot for a bbq and beers with our good friends The Original German Folks™. Talk about a full spread! From the time we arrived until our departure ……. The grill was pumping out the carne asada, ribs, Sausages, pollo and whatever was placed on there by our personal Chef, GP. As well the beers were kept cold and in circulation.
In the end everyone left with a smile and a good time. This event is always a good social gathering amongst car enthusiasts. Where it be European cars, American Cars, Low Riders, Customs or whatever. It’s a mutual ground for a gathering amongst the different likings. If you’ve never been, definitely worth the visit and experience. And make sure you swing by our spot for a Taco & Beer.
